FURY U14 BOYS ON THE ROAD TO DUNDEE
It’s the quarter-final stage of the U14 National Scottish Cup competitions and today sees Fury’s U14 Boys travel to Dundee to play Dundee Madsons Basketball Club. With 31 players in Fury’s U14 Boys squad competition for places in the 12 players squad was tough – it has seen 9 of the 12 spots being taken by the younger age of the double age group team and one spot taken by starting point guard Jack Shand who is still at primary school. Shand was voted into the ‘Monsterball’ All Star 5, U12 International competition held this summer in Inverness. Two key players however are the two oldest players in the team – guard Gary Penman and forward Lachlan Brown. Its likely these 3 will start for Fury along with forwards George Henderson and Ben Adams. Fury defeated Ayr Basketball Club in the opening round of the Cup that had 16 of the best club U14 teams in the country in the initial round. The tip off is at 4.20pm at Menzieshall Community SC and a semi-final place against local rivals Stirling Knights Basketball Club is a strong possibility should the boys come away with a win!
