INVERNESS ROAD TRIP FOR CM2 & JM 2 TEAMS
Fury’s second Cadet and Junior Men's teams made the 300 mile round trip on Saturday to play Highland Bears at Inverness Royal Academy and while both games ended in defeat, the development squads took a lot from the trip and the games. Team bonding was high on the list on and off court and in the CM2 game the 61-34 loss does not reflect the effort of the team who were only 7pts behind at the half. All the team got on the scoresheet and were led by Mark McGuire with 8.
The Junior Men's 2 game proved a bruising affair with ‘bodies’ flying everywhere and some players seemingly never off the floor! While clearly the Bears side – their first team, showed potential, for three of the periods, Fury’s second string held them to one basket – 16-14 ( first), 14-13 (third) , 12 -10 (fourth). The deciding period proved to be the second, which saw the Bears take 27-9 and take a 20 point lead that Fury could only manage to get down to 12 half way through the final stanza. For Fury, Thomas Boyle and Liam Burrell top scored, sharing 20pts , in what was a hardworking and challenging performance by players.
Thanks to the Bears for their after game hospitality!
